My brother is away / by Sara Greenwood ; illustrated by Luisa Uribe.

Greenwood, Sara, (author.). Uribe, Luisa, (illustrator.).

Summary:
With her older brother in prison, a young girl reflects on her memories of him as she learns to cope with the confusing feelings that surround his abscence. Happy thoughts of him swirl and contrast with the emptiness she feels now that he's gone. She is mad at times, embarassed others, and lonely without him at home. So when the time comes to make the 500-mile journey to visit him in prison, the girl is anxious. She wonders, "Do I look the same? Will he recognize me?" But those nerves turn to joy when they are reunited and she is reminded that while her brother might not live at home anymore, his love has not changed.
