Summary: In 1968, a multi-school walkout to protest unfair treatment of Mexican Americans by the East Los Angeles public school system is organized by Paula Crisostomo, an idealistic honor student, with the support of her teacher Sal Castro and her friend Bobby Verdugo. Based on a true story. Concluding montage features talking heads of the major characters, juxtaposed with the actors portraying them: ?Sal Castro, educator; Paula Crisostomo, college administrator; Victoria Castro, L.A.
